Recently the Ford government has announced a staycation tax rebate up to $200 for an individual and $400 for a family. This could go a long way especially at a budget friendly accommodation. That could work out to a couple nights free in some cases........Not too shabby. You simply have to keep your receipt from your stay at a local hotel, motel, vacation rental etc and apply the credits on your tax return. In addition, if you stay at a small locally run accommodation you will be helping to spur the economic recovery instead of padding the bottom line of a large corporation. Either way you can get out and see some of Ontario in 2022 and get a little relief come tax time. Enjoy!
